Can you take it?The Ironman France - Nice Triathlon (or just Ironman) has over the years become the world championship for long-distance triathlons. Triathletes will cover the official distances, with 3,8km swimming, 180km cycling and a marathon 42,195km on foot. The Ironman France-Nice will begin on the mythical Centenaire beach along Nice's famous esplanade, the Promenade des Anglais. The event will begin with the swimming competition, followed by cycling and ending with a foot-race - the finishing line will be further along the esplanade, near Verdun avenue. Over 50 different countries are represented every year, with some 1,500 participating triathletes. Previous years have already lauded some of the greatest champions of our generation, such as Mark Allen, Mike Pigg, Yves Cordier, Rob Barel, Paula Newby-Fraser and Isabelle Mouthon.Having established itself as a major challenge among ironman clubs, this event has become the single most important European race in this particular domain.
