Musée Matisse, visit

All year long

A fine building for Matisse!

Built in 1963, the Musée Matisse was renovated at the end of the 1980s and reopened its doors in 1993.
The museum has a rich collection of more than 230 drawings, 68 paintings and gouaches découpées (paper cut-outs), articles that belonged to Matisse, sculptures, etc.

Matisse lived in Nice from 1917 to 1954 and donated part of his work to the museum, which every year organises temporary exhibitions followed by lectures and slideshows relating to the artist.
